Uzbekistan, Iran launch joint venture for industrial production

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, December 21. Works on the Uzbek-Iranian Continaz joint venture, being built on the territory of the Uzbek Navoiazot JSC, have been completed, Trend reports.

According to Navoiyazot, the new factory is designed to produce 80,000 tons of sodium cyanide and 8,000 tons of hydrocyanic acid.

In addition to the sodium cyanide production lines, 11 buildings and structures will be constructed, including a pumping station, a central control panel, a local refrigeration unit, and a facility for burning exhaust gases. The enterprise will produce approximately 100 new employment and is projected to be operational in 2024.

On the eve of commissioning, another new production facility for the production of polyvinyl chloride pipes. The complex, designed to process 4.5-5 tons of raw materials per day, will produce 8 different types of pipes with a diameter from 90 mm to 250 mm and a thickness of 14.8 mm with a capacity of.

Meanwhile, the construction of a new industrial facility in Navoiyazot JSC began in 2021. Construction and installation works worth 5 billion soums ($404,193) were carried out in 5 buildings and structures allocated by the joint-stock company for its construction.

Citing Navoiyazot, the total amount of expenses will amount to $25 million.
