The talks about Iran's contested nuclear programmes with world powers would be resumed soon, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said, dpa reported.
Mehmanparast also said that inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) were expected to visit Iran this month.
"We are just waiting for the date and venue to be clarified by [European Union foreign policy chief Catherine] Ashton," he told reporters in Tehran.
"After that (Iran's chief nuclear negotiator Saedi) Jalili and his team would clarify Iran's position," Mehmanparast said, without elaborating.
Iran's Residing Representative at the International Atomic Energy Agency Ali Asghar Soltaniyeh said he is slated to meet with IAEA chief nuclear inspector in Vienna in the first week of January to arrange a visit to Iran as soon as possible, Fars News Agency reported earlier.
