Iran should have plans for oil recession," said Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs Farhad Dejpasand.
Dejpasand has indicated that the country should have plans for oil recession and implement economic policies similar to the Iran-Iraq war era, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.
"The economy was completely dependent on oil prosperity while raw materials and machinery were being imported. The government succeeded to surpass problems during the Iran-Iraq war despite the increase of costs," he said during the anniversary marking of the Iran-Iraq war (1980-1988).
"We should implement management similar to the one of the Iran-Iraq war times, considering the current economic war," he added.
"The economic growth was positive during 1980-1985 while the inflation reduced in the country and reached 7 percent in 1985 but, it grew to more than 25 percent in 1986," he said.
"The enemy wanted to finish the military war with economic pressure, and caused an oil shock to the country in 1986, but the people lived through the difficulties," he said.
