(www.irna.ir) вЂ" Chairman of Russian Federation Council Committee for Foreign Affairs Mikhail Margelov will arrive in the Iranian capital on Monday.
Based on reports, Margelov during his stay in Tehran will exchange views with Iranian officials on Iran's nuclear problem and the situation in the region.
Margelov is to meet with the former Iranian president and the Expediency Council Chairman, Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, Speaker of Majlis Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel and members of the Russian-Iranian parliamentary friendship group in Iranian parliament, reports Trend.
The visit will be made within the framework of Russian-Iranian interparliamentary relations.
The two sides are expected to discuss issues related to Iranian nuclear program as well as regional and international problems.
Early in February Margelov told journalists that Moscow "believes in the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear research."
He recalled that Russia "was and remains a member of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty." "We support the efforts made by the UN and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on the Iranian problem," the Russian official said.
