Iran has installed a 2,600-ton platform designed and built for Phase 20 of the South Pars, Oil Ministry’s Shana news agency reported November 11.

The platform can process 1 billion cubic feet of gas per day. It was installed by Iranian technicians.

This platform will come on stream in early February. In August an identical platform was installed at Phase 21.

Together, these two platforms will facilitate the daily injection of 50 mcm of gas to the cross-country pipeline, and the export of 77,000 barrels of gas condensates, as well as annual production of 1 million tons of liquefied gas, 400 tons of sulfur, and 1 million tons of ethane.

For the current Iranian year (since March 20), six platforms of the South Pars are planned to come on stream. So far platforms A19, B18, B21, and B20 have been installed. A19 and A18 are already operational.
