Senior officials from member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization, ECO, are scheduled to convene in Tehran on October 6, an official with Iran Veterinary Organization said.

“ECO member states will travel to Iran On Saturday to discuss various bilateral ties, including veterinary-related issues and diseases,” Bahman Abedi Kiasari said, Fars news agency reported on October 3.

The summit will convey a clear message to the world at a time that Washington is seeking Tehran’s isolation, he added.

“Iran will continue to preserve its international ties under any circumstances,” the official said.

ECO is an intergovernmental regional organization which was established in 1985 by Iran, Pakistan and Turkey for the purpose of promoting economic, technical and cultural cooperation among the member states.

In 1992, the organization was expanded to include seven new members. Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are currently ECO member states.
