TEHRAN, Iran, June 15

Trend:

Iran has obligated local exporters to either use their foreign currency revenues to import certain commodities or sell the revenues through its NIMA system, head of Iran Export Confederation Mohammad Lahouti said, Trend reports citing Fars.

"They're not allowed to assign or use their revenues for importing other types of commodities," he noted.

"Import by use of export revenues has changed since the past two weeks and exporters should obtain approval of Ministry of Industry , Mine and Trade for importing goods or just import commodities that related to their specialized field of work," said Lahouti.

He also pointed out that the exporters have issues with selling their foreign currency revenues through the NIMA system.

"Considering that the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade is responsible, hopefully, this issue will be resolved as soon as possible," he said.
