All three ministers proposed by Iran's President Hassan Rouhani received the Parliament's vote of confidence, the state-run IRINN TV reported November 1.

Rouhani had proposed Reza Salehi-Amiri as minister of culture and Islamic guidance, Massoud Soltanifar as minister of sports and youth affairs, and Fakhroddin Ahmadi Danesh-Ashtiani as minister of education.

Danesh-Ashtiani received 157 votes in favor, 111 against, and 6 abstentions.

Salehi-Amiri received 180 votes in favor, 89 against, and 6 abstentions.

Soltanifar received 193 votes in favor, 72 against, and 9 abstentions.

Previous ministers of sports and youth affairs, culture and Islamic guidance and education, namely Mahmoud Goudarzi, Ali Jannati, and Ali Asghar Fani had resigned amid speculations about a cabinet reshuffle.

President Rouhani appeared in the Parliament floor to speak in defense of his proposed men. Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and First Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri were also in attendance.
