The Georgian Parliament has refused to create a temporary investigative commission to examine the events of Nov.7, 2007 and May 26, 2011, on which the opposition faction "Unity for the sake of Justice" insisted.

Some 72 MPs opposed the creation of the committee, while 14 MPs voted 'for' during the voting at the plenary session on Friday. MP from the National Democratic Party Guram Chahvadze, as well as representatives of the Christian-Democrats faction, stood for the creation of such a commission.

An opposition rally was dispersed on Nov.27, 2007, following which the law enforcement officers stormed the TV Company Imedi, destroyed it and closed. According to official information, Imedi urged people to seize power.

When dispersing another opposition rally on May 26, 2001, the protesters and journalists have suffered.
