Pardon Commission under the President of Georgia granted the petition of 73 prisoners.
As told reporters after the committee meeting at the presidential palace in Tbilisi Public Defender of Georgia Giorgi Tugushi, only 144 were considered the application for a pardon, 5 of which belonged to juvenile detainees.
"The Commission has decided to make a recommendation to pardon 73 prisoners. Of these 10th-year sentence reduced by half, while the rest will leave prison. Among those who were touched pardon 15 women and one underage girl," - said Giorgi Tugushi.
President will sign the petition for clemency before the new year.
