The next meeting of Georgian Prime Minister's special representative on relations with Russia Zurab Abashidze and the First Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Grigory Karasin is scheduled to be held in Prague on 4-5 June, Abashidze said in his speech at a NATO seminar in Tbilisi on Tuesday.
"In Prague, we are going to discuss the period of five or six months that have passed since our last meeting. We are going to analyse the directions in which our relations are developing and how they are affected by the start of negotiations," he noted.
Abashidze also said that a plan to introduce a visa-free regime for certain categories of persons will be discussed during the next meeting in Prague.
"We have faced some criticism from the Georgian opposition in relation to the negotiations, but I want to note that we do not intend to replace the Geneva process with participation of international mediators and even moved the negotiations from Geneva to Prague," Georgian Prime Minister's Special Representative noted.
Large scale military actions were launched in South Ossetia on August 8, 2008. Later, Russian troops occupied Tskhinvali and expelled the Georgian military.
Russia recognised the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia in late August. In response, Tbilisi broke diplomatic relations with Moscow and has called the two unrecognised republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia occupied territories.
