At a joint meeting in Brussels, foreign and defence ministers of 28 EU countries have recently called for the signing of a framework agreement with Georgia on the participation of this country in EU peacekeeping operations.
'The ministers called for the signing of an agreement determining Georgia's participation in EU crisis management operations', the EU official website reported today.
The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Catherine Ashton, chaired the ministerial meeting. She proposed to the Georgian authorities during her visit to that country in November 2012 to begin negotiations on the framework agreement on Georgia's participation in EU crisis management operations.
