Some 20 Qatari companies headed by the member of the board of directors Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry are seeking to invest in Georgia, according to the official sources in Tbilisi.
The representatives Chamber stated their intention of doing business in Georgia during a meeting with the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Ali al Misnadi, chairman of Al Baida Group.
The Georgian PM expressed hope for close cooperation with the Qatari business sector and familiarized the guests with the existing business environment in Georgia.
Among the topics touched upon during the meeting was the investment possibilities in Georgia.
Garibashvili pointed out that Georgia offers a wide choice for businesses looking to invest particularly in such developing fields as hydro energy, agriculture, tourism, logistics, real estate, and as a hub for regional services.
The Georgian premier drew special attention to stable macroeconomic environment, liberal tax laws, and the central location of the country.
