The European Commission will allocate new financial assistance to Georgia.

EU representative office in Georgia told Trend Dec. 12 that a memorandum, stipulating the allocation of 46 million EUR for Georgia, was signed by the European commissioner for economic and financial affairs, taxation and customs, Pierre Moscovici.

Georgia will receive assistance the next year in two tranches, one of them being loan, and the second one - a grant.

"We support Georgia's efforts to maintain macroeconomic stability in the process of implementing economic growth-oriented reforms and integration with the EU," the commissioner said.

EU's financial assistance is aimed at supporting the government reform in Georgia, in particular, to strengthen economic governance and economic integration with the EU.
