The total profit of Georgia’s commercial banks in January 2022 amounted to 212.6 million Georgian lari ($73.3 million), which is an increase of 86 percent, compared to 114 million Georgian lari ($39.3 million) in December 2021, Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
The total income of Georgia’s commercial banks in the reporting period of 2022 totaled 520.7 million Georgian lari ($179.5 million), while the expenses amounted to 276.2 Georgian lari ($95.2 million).
Meanwhile, the income fines and penalties received by Georgia’s commercial banks in January 2022 amounted to 6.6 million Georgian lari ($2.2 million), while the net profit and loss from conversion operations totaled 23.5 million Georgian lari ($8.1 million).
At the same time, Georgia’s commercial banks received 37.1 million Georgian lari ($12.7 million) in fees and commissions in January 2022.
According to the NBG, the banks also spent 69.9 million Georgian lari ($24.1 million) on device maintenance in the reporting period of 2022.
