Dubai's chief of police has offered to teach Israel's spy agency, the Mossad, how better to use disguises in their operations, in remarks published Wednesday.

Dahi Khalfan Tamim has earlier said Dubai police were all but certain that the Mossad was responsible for the murder of leading Hamas official Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, found suffocated to death in his hotel room on January 20, DPA reported.

"If the Mossad wants to learn how to disguise (agents) and change (their) appearances, we can send them a trainer from Dubai police to teach them," Tamim told the regional daily al-Sharq al-Awsat.

Israel has said there is no proof that Mossad was involved.

"Mossad ... is using methods that are 20 years old," Tamim said. "The way the team disguised is stupid and naive. They are still using wigs!"

Tamim added that one of the 27 suspects police had identified had disguised himself by wearing sportswear, though "it was clear his body was not fit for sports."

Tamim said that from closed-circuit television footage, it was clear the man, who spent a long time loitering by tennis courts, did not know how to carry a tennis racket.

The Dubai police chief said that police used the same technique Bedouins use to track a missing camel to track the suspected killers.

"Bedouin look at the camel, and know from the track where it belongs," he told al-Sharq al-Awsat. "Based on this method, we were able to reveal the details of operation after 20 hours only."

He said that police analysed 648 hours of security footage and followed some 300 taxi drivers as well as followed around 300 taxi drivers in the initial investigation.
