A meeting between Vice President Omar Suleiman and members of several opposition groups on Sunday has yielded the first agreements between the sides, state television reported, dpa reported.
The sides have agreed to form a committee to look into amending the country's constitution.
Ending the official State of Emergency, which grants the police wide-ranging powers, was also to be discussed in a separate grouping, taking into consideration the "security situation."
Moreover, the sides will discuss expanding freedom of information online.
