The Syrian Army and security forces are on high security alert as opposition called Friday for mass demonstrations across the country to emphasize unity of opposition against the government of President Bashar al-Assad, Al Alarabiya quoted activists as saying.
Meanwhile, the revolution activists blamed an international community on its position toward what is going on in Syria and called on the Syrian opposition to unity.
Random arrests were being carried out Friday in various areas of Syria targeting activists and military defectors, they claimed. More than 300 people have been arrested since Monday, they said.
Security forces have killed some 2,700 people, including at least 100 children since the anti-government protests began in Syria in mid-March, according to the United Nations.
