The 2010 World Cup hosts, who have failed to impress in recent friendly matches, dominated the game and won through goals by Surprise Moriri, Benni McCarthy and Siphiwe Tshabalala.

McCarthy's goal in the 47th minute saw him move to the top of the Bafana all-time scorer list with 30 goals.

The South Americans, who drew 2-2 with Bafana at the 2002 World Cup, had to replace striker Roque Santa Cruz midway through the first half after he was injured in a tackle by his Blackburn Rovers team- mate Aaron Mokoena.

A few minutes later Moriri opened the scoring with a well-taken volley after a cross from Tshepo Masilela. McCarthy added the second with a header from a Moriri cross.

Tshabalala scored South Africa's third on the hour with a long-range effort.
