Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill will hold discussions with Foreign Affairs Vice Minister Kim Gye Gwan in an effort to get the six-nation talks back on track, US State Department deputy spokesman Tom Casey said.

North Korea missed a December 31 deadline to declare all of its nuclear work as part of a February 2007 disarmament agreement and has yet to produce the document. The delay has put additional negotiations to implement the agreement on hold.

Hill will head to Beijing the following day to update Chinese officials on his meeting with Kim, Casey said.
