Vegas romp The Hangover is the top nominee for the MTV Movie Awards which were announced Wednesday, DPA reported.
The film has six chances for glory at the awards show, which is regarded as a prime indicator of youth tastes.
But it will face a stiff fight from two powerful challengers, both of which received five nominations: James Cameron's record-breaking blockbuster Avatar and the second Twilight episode New Moon.
All three movies are to compete for best picture with Alice in Wonderland, and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
The MTV Movie Awards are to take place in Los Angeles on June 6.
