Afghan President Hamid Karzai said Wednesday his government will boycott talks with Taliban representatives, who opened a "political office" in Qatar's capital, Doha, a day earlier, dpa reported.
"Recent developments indicate that foreign powers are involved behind the Taliban office in Qatar. The High Peace Council will not attend talks unless there is a complete Afghan-led peace process," Karzai said in a statement by his office.
Karzai's office said that the decision came after holding a consultative meeting with the Council members, jihadi leaders and politicians.
