(Itar-Tass) - Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mohammed ElBaradei said answering an Itar-Tass question at a press conference in the Japanese capital on Friday that Russia's proposal to enrich uranium for Iran on Russian soil may open the way towards the Iranian problem settlement.

The IAEA head said he supports the Russian proposal to provide uranium enrichment facilities for Iran in the Russian territory, reports Trend.

ElBaradei also said the agency has no claims to the Bushehr nuclear power plant construction project with Russian assistance in Iran.

The NPP construction in Iran is not a disputable project, as it has been implemented for several years under the IAEA control and I think it will be put into operation probably next year, ElBaradei said.
