Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec. 4

By Rufiz Hafizoglu – Trend:

A special commission has been set up in Turkey to study financial consequences of the military coup attempt in the country, the Turkish media reported Dec. 4.

The commission will be headed by the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund of Turkey (TMSF) and the country’s Cabinet of Ministers, according to the report.

Until Dec. 31 this year, the commission has to prepare a report on the financial consequences of the military coup attempt.

On July 15, 2016, Turkish authorities said a military coup attempt took place in the country as a group of servicemen announced about transition of power to them. However, the rebelling servicemen started to surrender July 16 and Turkish authorities said the coup attempt failed.

More than 250 people were killed during the attempted coup.

Turkish authorities are accusing Fethullah Gulen, who lives in the US, of supporting the attempted coup.
