Dynamics of cargo transshipment from Spain to Turkey

Cargo transshipment from Spain via Turkish ports amounted to 3.9 million tons from January through March 2020, Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on April 17.

The volume of cargo transshipment from Spain via Turkish ports by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 469,310 tons, while the cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 3.5 million tons.

According to the ministry, over the reporting period, 12,174 tons of cargo were carried by ships flying the Spanish flag.

Some 461,019 tons cargo from Spain were transited through Turkish ports in the first quarter of 2020.

During the reporting period, the volume of cargo transported by ships via Turkish ports amounted to over 94.6 million tons.

According to the ministry, in 1Q2020, the volume of cargo handled by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 7.4 million tons from January through March 2020.

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 3.9 million tons, while the cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 83.1 million tons from January through March 2020.

Over the reporting period, 18.4 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports amounted to 32.1 million tons in March 2020.

The volume of cargo handled by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to over 2.8 million tons in March 2020.

In the reporting month, the volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 1.3 million tons, while cargo transshipment by ships under the flags of other countries stood at 27.9 million tons.

According to the ministry, 5.9 million tons of cargo was transported in transit through the ports of Turkey in March 2020.
