Two hundred and sixty members of the Iranian parliament have signed a statement calling for the removal of Western sanctions on the country's economy.
The signatories have also urged the UN Security Council to close Iran's nuclear case.
The lawmakers have emphasized that if any part of a prospective agreement between Iran and the P5+1 (the US, UK, France, Russia, China, and Germany) is violated by its members, the Iranian government should discard the agreement and resume uranium enrichment, Fars news agency reported March 16.
Iranian MP, Ebrahim Karkhanei said that the removal of all sanctions at once is demanded in the statement.
He added that the statement requires the UN Security Council to change the status of the Iranian case to neutral.
Iran and the group of six powerful countries are holding talks on the Islamic Republic's nuclear program. The sides have agreed to reach a political understanding by the end of March, and a comprehensive deal by June 1.
Iran says that the removal of all sanctions is a prerequisite for any deal. The UN Security Council, the US government, and the EU imposed sanctions on Iran in the past years after failing to come to terms with Tehran on its nuclear program.
