Ex-Bishkek Mayor and leading presidential candidate Nariman Tyuleev has withdrawn his candidacy due to the actions of the Kyrgyz Central Elections Commission, RIA Novosti reported.

Analysts argued that Tyuleev had a good chance to enter the top three in the presidential race in Kyrgyzstan.

The Oct. 30 elections will be the first after the change of power in April 2010.

The election campaign began on Sept. 25.

Twenty of 83 original candidates were able to get a candidate's mandate by collecting 30,000 signatures, paying the candidate fee and passing the examination in the Kyrgyz language.

"I have received the certificate two weeks before the election campaign. Everything was done to prevent me and my supporters to run fro presidency. The election campaign was broken," Tyuleev stated on Monday.

Other candidates started their campaigning two weeks earlier on Sept.25.

Tyuleev said the CEC, which "shall conduct open, honest elections," with its activities forced him to make a choice, " to buy own people, buy votes, or act honestly."

"I was ready to fight fairly. But everything was done to stop me. I have no moral right to seek the post of president with other means. That's why I stand down," he said.
