The Turkmen and Tajik governments signed a package of agreements after high-level and expanded meetings on May 5, a source close to the negotiations told Trend on May 5.
Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is on an official visit to Dushanbe on May 5-6. The documents were signed in the field of transport, tourism, and education; economic cooperation program for 2014-2016 between the foreign ministries of the two countries as part of his visit.
President Berdimuhamedov and President Rahmon signed a joint communique.
The source also said that the implementation of the Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Turkmenistan (TAT) railway construction project, which started in 2013, was discussed during the talks.
They exchanged views on regional and international issues, including the situation in Afghanistan.
