Embassy of Azerbaijan in Cairo does not possess information on availability of Azerbaijanis among victims of ferry-boat wreck on Red Sea

The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Cairo does possess any information on availability of the Azerbaijanis among the ferry-boat wreck victims on the Red Sea, the Embassy of Azerbaijan to Egypt told Trend.

They noted, the Embassy did not work on 3 February however, the person on duty at
the Embassy has not received any information on the tragedy victims. Besides, there is no information about it in the local media as well.

The Embassy contacted the Foreign Ministry of Egypt, but there were no information about it too.

It should be noted the Egyptian maritime authorities stated that the Al Salam 98 ferry-boat with 1400 passengers and crew members on board sank in the Red Sea on 3 February in the morning. 15 bodies were found and 12 people on board saved. Coastal services lost links with the Al Salam 89 ferry-boat with 1310 passengers on board, mostly Egyptians. The ferry-boat headed from Jiddah (Saudi Arabia) to Safaga.
