Gurban Holiday to be Marked Internationally in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan, Tashkent, 1 December / corr Trend T. Zhukov / Islam Karimov, president of Uzbekistan, signed a decree on celebration of Gurban Holiday in the country, the source at the government told Trend .

Taking into account the proposal by the Uzbek Muslims Organization that the first day of the holidays is 2 December 2008, the president declared this day a holiday and ordered to mark it solemnly in the country. Thus 8 December is marked as the Day of Constitution in Uzbekistan.

Nuroniy, the republican fond, Kamalot, social youth movement and other public structures are enjoined to implement necessary measures and highly organize the Gurban Holiday in accordance with the national values of the Uzbek nation.

The National Broadcasting Company of Uzbekistan and National Information Agency and other media outlets are recommended to provide broad coverage of the holiday.
