Azerbaijani opposition party is to stage unsanctioned rally in front of the Iranian Embassy in Baku.
"We will stage rally in front of the Iranian Embassy in Baku tomorrow regardless of the decision of the Baku City Administration," head of the Central Executive Department of the Musavat party Arif Hajili told Trend .
About 35 million Azerbaijanis live in the South Azerbaijan. The facts of repressions, arrests and tortures by local administrations in Iran have become frequent.
"We will demand the Iranian government to stop putting pressure on Azerbaijanis. We will also demonstrate protest against the statement of chief of the Iranian Armed Forces due to the expected visit of Israeli President Shimon Peres to Azerbaijan," Hajili said.
Opposition Musavat party was founded in Baku in Oct 1911. The third (restoration) sitting of Musavat party was held on 7 Nov 1992 in Republican Pal ace in Baku. Isa Gambar was elected head of the Musavat party in a landslide in a secret vote.
Isa Gambar was the speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament from 1992 to 1993. In 2003, he ran for presidency. The party is represented by 4 MPs in the Parliament.
