Azerbaijani Ambassador to Switzerland congratulates winner of Montreux Jazz Festival

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Switzerland Elchin Amirbayov has congratulated Azerbaijani young Pianist Isfar Sarabski with a victory at the Montreux Jazz Festival in the Swiss city of Montreux, which ended on July 18.

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Switzerland Elchin Amirbayov has congratulated Azerbaijani young Pianist Isfar Sarabski with a victory at the Montreux Jazz Festival in the Swiss city of Montreux, which ended on July 18.

"I would like to congratulate the musician and his own mentor and teacher, the rector of Baku Music Academy Farhad Badalbayli on this victory," Amirbayov told Trend in a telephone conversation from Geneva.

Young Azerbaijani Pianist Sarabsky not only won the final, but also the Audience Award.

This year for the first time, in a giant international jazz festival Mountreux, held in Geneva for 43 times, Azerbaijan was represented by the project "Eastern highlights" which consisted of several jazz bands, led by Emil Ibrahim, Salman Gambarov and other jazzists, Amirbayov said.

On the last day of the festival, Aziz Mustafazadeh with his trio gave a solo concert. Amirbayov said all events were a great success. Guests, as well as specially invited members of the Swiss parliament, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Bern and Geneva, the leaders of international organizations attended the event.

The festival is also attended by a large Azerbaijani delegation, led by Culture Minister Abulfaz Garayev.
