The Interior Ministry of Pakistan has not received information about arrest of 11 Azerbaijanis suspected of links with Al-Qaeda in Pishavar province, Ministry's Joint Secretary Raashid Mazari said.

"We have inquired from the Provincial Government of Balochistan, who has intimated that no Azerbaijani national has been arrested in their province, Mazari said. Response from other provinces is awaited. We would be able to communicate the details if any on receipt of information," Mazari told Trend via e-mail.

The diplomatic mission of Azerbaijan in Pakistan has not received information concerning arrest of Azerbaijanis suspected of links with Al-Qaeda from local law enforcement agencies, adviser of the Azerbaijani embassy in Islamabad, Sabir Rzayev, said earlier on August 15.

"If such fact would occur, the law-enforcement agencies of Pakistan would not free them and would inform the embassy," said Rzayev.

About 30 people, including 11 Azerbaijanis were arrested during checks on the bus traveling from Balochistan to Pishavar, Turkish NTV television channel reported.  According to the report, among them were Turkish citizens - seven men, five women and four children.
