It is possible that Azerbaijani National Independence Party leader Etibar Mammadov will return to activity, Press Secretary Ali Orujov told Trend.

"The intensifying political processes in Azerbaijan make it necessary to return Mammadov to active policy," he said.

Trend contacted Mammadov on the issue.

In his interview with Trend, Mammadov neither confirmed nor denied the information.

Mammadov is a leader of Azerbaijan's national independence movement.
He signed the act of independence.

In 1992, he was a founder of the Azerbaijan National Independence Party. He was elected as the party's first chairman.

After the parliamentary elections in 2005, Mammadov left active politics.
