AZERI DELEGATION OFF TO CYPRUS TO SHOW SUPPORT TO TURKISH CYPRIOTS

An Azerbaijani delegation of 8 MPs left for Lefkoshu, the capital of North Cyprus through the fights of Cyprus Airline, an air company, with a five-day visit. Prior to the flight to Istanbul members of the delegation answered the Turkish journalists’ questions.

Hadi Rajably, the chairman of the permanent parliamentary commission on

social policy, told the Turkish daily Zaman that it came as the first visit of such large delegation of Azerbaijani parliamentarians to North Cyprus.

В"We leave for Cyprus with an only objective вЂ" to support the Turkish Cypriots,В" Rajabli underlined, adding the urgent importance of North Cyprus to Azerbaijan.

Rejeb Tayyub Erdogan, the Turkish Prime-Minister, stressed on the eve of his visit to Russia that the latest steps of Azerbaijan meant �de-facto’ recognition of the North Cyprus. “I hope Azerbaijan’s steps in this direction will continue”, he added.
