A Swedish diplomat Peter Semneby will be a new special envoy of the European Union (EU) in South Caucasus, the Mediamax agency reports, citing the diplomatic sources in Brussels, according to Trend.
During the previous years Peter Semneby headed the OSCE missions in Croatia and Latvia.
The decision to establish the institute of the EU special envoy in South Caucasus was taken in July 2003 and the Finnish diplomat Heilli Talvitie was the first to occupy this position.
