The Azerbaijani president, Ilham Aliyev accepted a delegation with the minister of defense of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mustafa Mohammed Najar on April 20, Trend reports.
Cooperation between the 2 countries is developing in political, economic, energetic and other areas and newly signed bilateral agreements are raising these relations at the new level, the president said.
Aliyev reminded about his meeting with the Iranian president,
and noted that the 2 heads of states will have a chance to meet again in May at the meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member- states in Baku.
Iranian minister in his turn expressed gratitude of the Iranian president for inviting him to the ECO meeting.
Najar also thanked Azerbaijan for humanitarian aid to the Iranian regions suffered after the earthquake.
He confirmed that Iran has always been supporting the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and it will continue to do so.
