Turkey, Iran, Pakistan to become founders of ECO Trade and Cooperation Bank Turkish State Minister

Turkey attaches great importance to the development of cooperation among Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member-countries, Bashir Atalay, the Turkish State Minister, Bashir Atalay, stated in Baku on 4 May in the end of a meeting of ECO Council of Foreign Ministers.

Ankara is one of the most active members of ECO and we attach great importance to the expansion of relationships within the framework of the regional platform, Atalay noted, stressing his countrys interests in the rapid implementation of the regional economic projects among 10 ECO member-countries.

The Turkish minister spoke about the resolution

adopted by the Foreign Ministers on the issue of establishment of ECO Bank of Trade and cooperation. Work over establishment of the bank is in the final and founders of the new establishment are 3 countries: Turkey, Iran and Pakistan. Later other countries will join the work of the bank.

The Turkish State Minister also noted that the issue on Irans nuclear program was not included in the agenda, but did not exclude that the issue could become a topic of discussions with the Foreign Ministers, heads of states and governments of OEC member-countries.
