Azeri President arrives in Istanbul

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Istanbul on 12 July, Trend reports. At Ataturk airport the President was welcomed by the Turkish State Minister Muhammadali Shahin, the head of the city municipality Gadir Topbash, Governor of Istanbul, Muhammad Guler, Trend reports

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will participate in the ceremony to open a monument to the former Azerbaijani President Heydar Ailyev, a park and avenue in the Sariyar area of Istanbul. On the same day a ceremony of awarding the Azerbaijani leader a prize of Ecovitrin magazine in the category Politician of the Year will take place.

In Istanbul President Aliyev will hold meetings with the Turkish President Ahmet Nejdet Sezer and the Georgian President Mikhael Saakashvili, Turkish Prime Minister Rejep Tayyub Erdogan, as well as have a joint meeting with the Georgian President and Turkish PM.

In the end of the meeting the Azerbaijani president will participate in a solemn reception to be given Chiragan hotel in the honor of commissioning of the pipeline. The President will leave for Adana on 13 July and later to Ceyhan, where he will participate in the solemn event marking the commissioning of BTC.

The head of state will also get familiar with Heydar Ailyev Park in Ceyhan.
