Fires in Azeri territories occupied by Armenians are purposeful Azeri Minister of Ecology

Azerbaijan is continuing to observe the fires committed by Armenians in Azerbaijans occupied territories. The Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan Huseyin Bagirov told on July 20 that the negative impact on the environment is one of the arguments of Armenian policy and it once again confirms the hostility attitude of Armenia towards Azerbaijan, Trend reports.

There fires are purposeful. Armenians know that these territories dont belong to them and they achieve their ambitions by realizing the strategy of destroying the lands, the minister told.

Bagirov noted that several Armenian officials call the natural events as the reasons for the fires, but it is fully illogical because it is impossible that in nigh the fire happens in three or four places at one time.

The statements that Azerbaijan itself burns the territories dont correspond any realities because the access of Azerbaijani to the occupied territories is impossible. We have photos from the satellite which prove that the fires are committed exactly in occupied territories, Bagirov emphasized.

He told that the ministry has prepared several appeals to several conventions which have been ratified by Armenians. Armenians have obligation before the conventions and irrespective of the military actions, they should fulfill the terms of the conventions, Bagirov added.

The prepared documents have been submitted to the Foreign Ministry for approval.

Commenting on the situation, the resident-coordinator of the United Nations Development Program in Azerbaijan Marko Borsotti noted that his organization is ready to discuss this question if an official appeal is forwarded by the Azerbaijani government. The environment is not only a national, but also global question. It belongs not only to one or two countries, but all the world, he added.
