Azerbaijan joins 39 int'l conventions over past 2 years

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, stated to a Baku conference of the heads of diplomatic missions abroad on 14 August that over the past 2 years Azerbaijan has joined 39 international conventions, Trend reports.

In this period Azerbaijan has signed 300 bilateral agreements covering different spheres with different word countries. Over the past 2 years the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and the United States has strengthened and consolidated, while the relationships with Russia continues through intensive dialogue on the top, increase of growth pace of trade-economic relationships, active interaction in the humanitarian and other fields.

According to Mammadyarov, Turkey, the most reliable strategic partner of Azerbaijan, comes out from a unified position in global energy and transport projects, actual issues of world policy and economy. Over past 2 years Azerbaijan has actively expanded the dialogue with Germany, Austria, France, UK, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland and Romania. As a result of top-level visits the Iranian-Azerbaijani relationships has upgraded. Moreover, the relationships with China, Japan, and South Korea develop dynamically in the spheres of politics, economy, science, culture and education.

The Minister characterized Azerbaijans relationships with Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, and Oman as developing with dialogues in many spheres. Concrete steps have been taken in the direction of development of the relationships with Indonesia, Pakistan, Malaysia and Brunei. Traditional friendship and cooperation with the Central Asian countries were demonstrated during the Azerbaijani Presidents visits to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The relationships with the Latin American countries have been expanded, while the improved legal agreement basis created available terms for upgrade of relationships, he underlined.
