A New Laboratory Installedd in Azerbaijan Interior Office

Nuraddin Hassnov, the Chief of the Department for Criminal Investigations of the Azerbaijan Interior Ministry, has told Trend that a new up-to-date laboratory on detecting the chemistry of different powders and substances has been put into operation in the Department he heads.

Under the programme on technical procurement of offices and agencies of the Azerbaijan Interior Ministry and international cooperation with USA, the Department for Criminal Investigations was presented with a new laboratory Chromotomas worth of $100.000.

The new laboratory replaces the previous one. The major advantage of Chromotomas is that it can not only detect components of different powders and substances molecularly, but also displays the exact content of the substance for further crime detection and prevention.

A total of three laboratories marked Chromotomas were delivered to Azerbaijan from the USA, with two of them presented to the Azerbaijan Justice and Health Ministries.

Furthermore, on February 8th, two representatives of the US Embassy and a technician from Russia will commence five-day training on the operation and maintenance of the installed laboratory for 6 employees of the Azerbaijani Health, Justice and Interior Ministries.
