The Chairman of Azerbaijan Democratic Party (ADP), Rasul Guliyev, is expected to be dismissed from his position and ranks of the Party on 19 February 2007, according to the decision of the Central Control & Inspection Commission (CCIC) of the Party.
On 18 February, the Extraordinary Session of the ADP High Assembly was held with the participation of Akif Shahbazov, who was dismissed from his position as Chairman of the ADP High Assembly. Rasul Guliyev engaged in this session via telephone. ADP CCIC stated that this session, as well as Guliyev's joining the session, is contrary to the law and regulations of the Party.
According to the regulations of the Party, administrative fines will be applied to party members who participated at the session and complaints will be made to the Court regarding those dismissed from the Party.
