Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. P. Amirdjanov/ Today, on May 4, Azerbaijan's President, Ilham Aliyev, has received the Mayor of the German City of Ludwigshafen, Eva Lohse at the Presidential Palace in Baku.
The Head of the Azerbaijani State marked the successful development of bilateral ties between Azerbaijan and Germany. President Ilham Aliyev also noted that he had visited Germany twice in the past two and a half years.
Recollecting his recent visit to Germany, which was paid in February, 2007, the Azerbaijani President said his meeting with the Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel, and that one with German businessmen were very important for further development of cooperation between the two countries.
The Azerbaijani President expressed a confidence that cooperation between the two twin cities - Sumgait of Azerbaijan and Ludwigshafen of Germany would make a solid contribution to the development of bilateral relations between both countries.
The German City Mayor, Eva Lohse said that she attached a great importance to cooperation with the Azerbaijani City of Sumgait.
