Report of Azerbaijani Parliament’s Spring Session Given

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend К.Zarbaliyeva / Azerbaijani Parliamentary Vice-Speaker Bahar Muradova stated that within the framework of the Azerbaijani Parliament's spring session fourteen meetings were convened. Some 130 bills and regulations were passed during these sessions.

Fifty-five international contracts and conventions were ratified during the Parliament's spring session.

Thirty-six laws and decisions were adopted during two special sessions of the Parliament.

Muradova noted that the Azerbaijani Parliament passed Administrative codes of practice, a Code of ethical conduct of State figures of the country, and many other significant issues during this session.

Recommendation regarding economics and social issues were also passed. The permanent Parliamentary Commission held 114 meetings, considered 279 bills, eighteen regulations, as well as discussed changes and a range of legislations.

In 2007, the Azerbaijani Parliament received 2,639 appeals and complaints from citizens, some of them were submitted to the corresponding structures, and the rest were considered by the Parliamentary Commission and Departments.
