( Contactmusic ) - Former BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER star SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR has expressed her fears for troubled BRITNEY SPEARS - insisting the singer's plight should not be viewed as entertainment. The actress is a big fan of the Toxic hitmaker and is sure that her recent breakdown could have been avoided if she had more support from her friends and family. She tells Parade magazine, "It's (Spears' situation) not something to joke about. I've met Britney a few times and seen her perform. I think what has happened to her is heart-wrenching. "Honestly, without sounding corny, it gives you a sorrowful experience when you realize how lonely and how isolated these girls must be. At least that's the insight that I got." Spears' behaviour has become more erratic in recent months after she lost custody of her children to ex-husband Kevin Federline last year (07) and she was hospitalised earlier this year (Jan08) following a four hour stand off with police after refusing to hand her sons back to their father.
