Azerbaijani state committee urges Azerbaijani youth studying abroad to be active in diaspora's activity

The Azerbaijani State Committee on Diaspora Affairs urged the Azerbaijani youth studying abroad to be more active in the diaspora movement.

"The Azerbaijani youth studying in Turkey and other countries and graduates must agitate the Azerbaijani realities in the world and always protect the country's interests," First Deputy of the State Committee on Diaspora Affairs Valeh Hajiyev said at the meeting with the Azerbaijani youth who are going to graduate from the Turkish universities this year.

The Azerbaijani Embassy in Turkey held a meeting with the Azerbaijani youth who is going to graduate from the Turkish universities this year. Azerbaijani Ambassador to Turkey Zakir Hashimov and officials of the Turkish Education Ministry, as well as diaspora organizations joined the meeting, the state committee said on May 29.

The Azerbaijani graduates promised that they will always act to strengthen the Azerbaijani diaspora, become active members of the diaspora and closely unite around the Azerbaijani statehood and Azerbaijanis' ideas, regardless where they will live.

A total of 186 Azerbaijani youth are studying at 81 leading universities of 17 countries under the State Program on Azerbaijani youth's abroad study in 2007-2015. So far, the government has allocated 3.5 million manat for their study. Some 7 young people have gained Master degree on this program.
