Water level in Azerbaijani rivers exceeds norm

Azerbaijan observes water content close to the ten-day norm and exceeding in the Greater and Lesser Caucasus rivers, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources said. In these regions’ rivers water content hits 90-150 percent of the ten-day norm.

Azerbaijan observes water content close to the ten-day norm and exceeding in the Greater and Lesser Caucasus rivers, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources said. In these regions' rivers water content hits 90-150 percent of the ten-day norm.

Water content is below the norm (20-45 percent of the ten-day norm) in Lankaran-Astara zone's rivers.

According to the report, at present, water consumption on the Giragkesemen section of the Kur river hits 245 cubic centimeters (145 percent of the ten-day norm), on the Ayrichay section of the Ganikh river - 112 cubic centimeters (105 percent of the ten-day norm).

At present change in water level in the lower current of Kur River is not observed. The water level in the Surra is 440 cm, (May 21, 2010 maximum level was equal to 955),  Shirvan - 355 cm (May 18, 2010 maximum level was equal to 853) , Salyan - 939 cm (May 18, 2010 maximum level was equal to 855 cm), the Novruzlu section of the Araz River - 212 cm (May 21, 2010 maximum level was equal to 734).
