Azerbaijan , Baku, Sept. 23 / Trend , T.Hajiyev /

The Azerbaijani Boxing Federation has denied charges of collusion with the International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA) on the outcome of the upcoming Olympic Games in 2012.

Azerbaijan Boxing Federation Vice President Agajan Abiyev stated these accusations are false.

"People who are informed about the sport, boxing and Olympic movement can not write such information," he told Trend.

He said people distributing this information are enemies of AIBA President Ching-Kuo Wu and Azerbaijan.

"Some people at the AIBA want to dishonor Ching-Kuo Wu. This information is a result of the biased attitude against him," Abiyev said.

Although Azerbaijan is a small country, it conducts all sporting events at the highest level, he said. Countries, which are envious of Baku's success, as well as neighboring Armenia, spread such a negative information.

Ching-Kuo Wu also refuted this information. He named these claims as a "completely absurd", ITAR-TASS reported.

He said amateur boxing rules, especially in the field of refereeing, makes impossible any such action.
