Azerbaijan develops internal rules of detention centers.
Adoption of the law "On the rights and freedoms of persons in custody" has caused the need for such a document, the Ministry of Justice told Trend on Friday.
Work on the preparation of this document with the participation of relevant experts will be completed before the end of the year, and the rules will be submitted to the Cabinet for approval.
The ministry said the current activities of detention facilities are regulated by the relevant provisions.
Recall that the law "On the rights and freedoms of persons in custody," came into force in July.
Unlike the old law, an arrested or detained person has received the right to meet with not only person, who protects his rights, but also with family members. A detained or arrested person has the right to use the library of the custodial and take magazines, newspapers and books, or receive magazines, newspapers, books and writing materials in retail outlets through the administration of the detention at own expense and perform religious practices, use religious literature, and to receive parcels and packages, use the services of a notary has the right to appeal in accordance with the ethical standards as well as the right to be received by the administration of the detention.
